Léandre Omeir has become a certified international coach and is introducing the Wim Hof method in France. He suggests discovering the capacity of the human body to adapt to extreme temperatures to increase the immune system and reduce stress.


After several training sessions in extreme cold with Wim Hof, a Dutchman nicknamed "the ice man" with 21 Guinness world records, Léandre Omeir teaches the discipline in Saint-Genest-Lerpt (42) by combining breathing techniques, exposure to polar cold (ice bath) and mental strength exercises.

This practice, used in particular by athletes during physical recovery, is being used by the general public for its anti-inflammatory and mental health properties. The combination of a unique breathing technique and the confrontation with extreme climatic conditions allows to reinforce the immune system through the production of adrenaline (études scientifiques disponibles) and reduce stress. According to the principles of hormesis, practicing this discipline linked to surpassing oneself also has beneficial effects on the mind.


How does an initiation of the Wim Hof method with Léandre Omeir proceed?

  1. A theoretical and breathing session specific to the Wim Hof method to prepare the body for exposure to extreme temperatures,

  2. A dive in 1° water in an ice bath, supervised by private consultants, to get used to the sensations,

  3. A session of physical and mental exercises to warm up the body and strengthen the mind.

Léandre Omeir can give simple daily exercises to reproduce at home.


Who can participate?

There is no contraindication to follow a Wim Hof Method course with Léandre Omeir (exposure to cold is not mandatory) except for people suffering from epilepsy, uncontrolled hypertension, Raynaud's disease level 2 and pregnant women.
